Loyalists linebacker Raekwon McMillan was basically attempting to take care of his business, coming up short on ensure that colleague Kyle Dugger made the tackle on a normal play. Out of nowhere, he saw a football on the ground.
McMillan scooped it up and ran 23 yards for the score, giving the Nationalists the go on score in a 27-13 win on Monday night over the Arizona Cardinals, who lost beginning quarterback Kyler Murray in the principal quarter to a possibly serious knee injury.
"I thought back, saw it was simply me and a lineman," McMillan said of his outlook while scooping the bungle. "On the off chance that I can't beat a lineman, then I don't merit being over here.'"
New Britain (7-6) followed 13-10 at the break yet tied the game at 13-all right off the bat in the second from last quarter after a short field objective.
A couple of moments later, the Nationalists got their game-changing play and a 20-13 lead some other time when McMillan scored his score, grabbing the free ball off the grass and running close to the end zone.
